《“C
for Courage” - An exhibition for children》 28 May – 6 June 2005
Valid for All Children
- Everyone and Everywhere in the World!
12/05/2005 :: C for Courage is a different exhibition for children.
C for Courage puts children’s rights on the local agenda, and invites
children to learn more about their own rights. 2005 is the centennial
anniversary of Norway, and the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing, together
with the Hart Center in 798 Art District, are proud to announce that
C for Courage will visit Beijing on 28 May to 6 June – as one of 10
countries in 2005!
Some children have to be very brave just to go to school. Some children
don’t have any identity papers. Some children have to work, while
others have everything they need. There is a Convention on the Rights
of the Child, which says that every child in the world should have
the same opportunity to live and to grow.
Adults often don’t listen to children. Adults pollute. Adults send
children out to fight as soldiers. But there are also many adults
who work hard for children’s rights. A courageous child has knowledge
in the heart as well as in the head. Adults can gain knowledge in
the heart from listening to children. While you visit C for Courage
you can ask yourself what children’s rights mean in the community
where you live. What can I do? What can I take responsibility for?
What makes me happy? What makes me sad? Change starts with ourselves.
We hope you won’t miss this opportunity to visit C for Courage, and
to learn more about Children’s rights. C for Courage is for everyone,
but is especially developed for children between 8 and 12 years old.
If you and your class want to visit C for Courage, please let us know!

《INDEPENDENT FRENCH
FILM FESTIVAL》“ CULTURAL EXCEPTIONS ” Curator: Christophe Bruncher 7-11 May 2005
These French movies,
shot on the margins of the classical production system, echo back
to the earliest independent Chinese movies of the nineties. Fiction
brushes against documentary, while narrative formats are reinvented
and new styles are created. Most of the movies were self-financed
and reveal, through their diversity, the originality of their authors.
They are a testimony to the French concept of “cultural exception”,
which has now been internationalized. To promote a better understanding
of this notion, the screenings will be followed by an interactive
discussion between French filmmakers and the Chinese public.
Selected Movies:
“Demi Tarif” by Isild Lebesco
“Real Movie” by Stéphane Robelin
“Doo Wop” by David Lanzmann
“En Attendant le Déluge” by Damien Odoul
“Altraa” by Benoit Delepine and Gustave Kervern

《Georges FeydeauFeu la Mère de Madame》(My
Late Mother-in-Law) 26/ 27 Nov. 2004
Georges Feydau (1862-1921)
was the most successful French dramatist of the Belle Epoque and is
now widely regarded as one of the greatest of farce-writers. His series
of dazzling hits match high-speed action and dialogue with ingenious
plotting. Reaching the heights of farcical lunacy, his plays nevertheless
contain touches of barbed social comment and allowed him to mention
subjects which would have provoked outrage in the hands of more serious
dramatists.
My Late Mother-in-Law (Feu la Mère de Madame) is a bedroom farce,
noted for great wit and complex plots, featuring misunderstandings
and coincidences, and what one critic called “jack-in-the-box construction”.
This play were highly popular at the time, and is now seen as foreshadowing
such modern developments as the theater of absurd.
Feydeau’s My Late Mother-in-Law is sure to showcase all of the theatre’s
bells and whistles and take audience on a comedic thrill ride."
Scriptwriter:Georges
FEYDEAU / Directer:Xavier FROMENT
Actor:Liu Yi/ CaiDachong/ Zhao Ruining/ Gao Xiaopan

《HART Mexican Culture
Festival》Curator: Cindy Zeng May. 2004
It’s a great pleasure
for Hart to bring in a civilian ancient country who has long history
as China, Mexico , in this May. With all the nations that Hart
recommended , there is one thing in common, that’s splendid. If
a nation can bring you the feeling of splendid, it must be pretty
and rich and possesses various combination of arts and cultures.
It’s good to explain Mexican civilization by Mexican themselves.
Mexican counselor of art, Mr.Edgardo Bermejo is a famous author,
he will be presenting and answering questions about Mexican traditional
civilization. 3 Mexican musicians presented Mexican musical rhythm
and 2 young Mexicans presented the status and development of current
Mexico.
In order for us to recognize Mexico well, we cosponsored with
Mexican embassy “Mexican contemporary photography”. These excellent
works are from Mexican famous photographer Manuel Penafiel.
